It had been 10 years since I was last in Houghton, and I was pleasantly surprised that not much had changed. It still retains its beauty, charm, and friendliness. I met Kelly at Panache Beauty at the Copper Country Mall at 9am. The girls were all there getting ready for a incredibly big and based on the temperature outside, a bit of a scorcher. Heather from Heather Lynn Photography showed up a few minutes later and took some great shots throughout the day (Definitely recommend her if you are getting married in the area! She does incredible work!).
The day didn't turn out as hot as I thought it would. A breeze thankfully picked up and cooled things off a bit. The girls were ready to go and so we were off to Northwinds Adventure, a great space tucked into the Houghton mining hills. I met Allan as Kelly and the girls finished up and got some great footage of him getting ready as well as the rest of his guys.
Before I knew it, I was back up at Northwinds, getting the last details of Kelly getting ready and we were ready to rock! The ceremony went off without a hitch and they were married, just like that, on the water. We went right into pictures, traveling to an incredible display of trees as well as to a dam, which, Kelly was D-E-T-E-R-M-I-N-E-D to get to, there was nothing that could stop her ;) .
As you can guess, the rest of the day was a success, there was fantastic conversation, dancing (LOTS of dancing), and great food. Days like these are when I truly love what I do, everything flows, and it all comes together.
Enjoy Allan + Kelly's day.
